Dissemination and Wrap-up Workshop of the Project on “Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening for Logistics Monitoring and Evaluation Database Development in Cambodia and CLV countries”
His Excellency HENG Nan, Secretary of State, Ministry Public Works and Transport (MPWT), on behalf of H.E. PENG Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, presided over the Wrap-up Workshop of the project on “Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening for Logistics Monitoring and Evaluation Database Development in Cambodia and CLV countries” in Siem Reap on 6th December 2023, with participation from representatives of all relevant Departments and General Departments of MPWT, representative from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, representative from Mekong Institute (MI), representatives from Ministry of Public of Works and Transport of Lao People's Democratic Republic, representatives from Ministry of Transport of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, national, international consultants and private sector.
The main objectives of this workshop are: (1) disseminate key achievements of the project to related ministries and stakeholders who have participated in the project implementation, (2) share lesson-learnt, experiences and Innovation in project implementation, (3) discuss the next steps after the project is completed, (4) announce the official completion of the project.
The project has been implemented for 3.6 years from June 2020 to December 2023, with the aims to: (1) enhance capacity of government officials in developing logistics database and M&E framework for monitoring and evaluating logistics in Mekong region, particularly Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam, (2) develop logistics M&E guide for the development of logistics in the Mekong region, and (3) develop a central logistics database system for Mekong region to enable sustainable logistics development in Cambodia and Mekong region.
During the workshop, Representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, provided the overview of Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund’s projects in Cambodia throughout the years. The Project Implementing Agency also presented the project overviews. outputs, challenges and way forward, as well as, the development of Logistics Database for CLV countries. Furthermore, both national and international consultants presented the training modules and lesson learnt of the project implementation (best practices in developed and developing countries) throughout the duration projects.
Taking this opportunity, MPWT expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to all relevant departments and general department of MPWT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Kingdom of Cambodia, Government of the Republic of Korea, Mekong Institute (MI), as well as, Ministry of Public of Works and Transport of Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Ministry of Transport of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, for the ongoing support and cooperation in the successful implementation of this project and related initiatives in the development of logistics sector in Cambodia and the Mekong region.
Finally, the wrap-up workshop was successfully completed with the participation and comments from all related stakeholder. As of today, all the key project activities and outputs of the project “Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening for Logistics Monitoring and Evaluation Database Development in Cambodia and CLV countries” are successfully completed with great result.
