Project Introduction

The project titled "Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening for Logistics Monitoring and Evaluation Database Development in Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Viet Nam" is implemented by the General Department of Logistics under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. The project aims to enhance the capacity and strengthen institutions involved in logistics monitoring and evaluation in these three countries.

Project activities

The project includes the following activities:

  1. Development of a Training Module for Statistics Management and a Course in the Logistics Sector: This involves creating a comprehensive training module that covers the management of statistics in the logistics sector. Relevant national and international papers are reviewed to ensure the content's accuracy and relevance.

  2. Development of Training Materials and Handouts: The project team develops training materials and handouts specifically focused on enhancing the skills and knowledge related to logistic statistical management. These materials will aid in the effective delivery of training sessions.

  3. Data Gathering: The project team collects data related to the logistics sector. This data may include information on transportation routes, cargo volumes, infrastructure, and other relevant factors that impact logistics operations.

  4. Training and Workshop on Logistic Statistical Management: The project conducts training sessions and workshops to impart knowledge and skills regarding logistic statistical management. These sessions aim to enhance the capabilities of professionals working in the logistics sector.

  5. Capacity Assessment: A capacity assessment is conducted within the logistics sector to evaluate the existing strengths and weaknesses. This assessment helps identify areas where improvement is needed and informs the development of targeted interventions.

  6. Development of Training Materials for Logistics M&E System: The project team creates training materials specifically focused on the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system in the logistics sector. These materials aim to build the capacity of professionals involved in logistics M&E processes.

  7. Development of Workshop on M&E Framework and Tools: A workshop is developed to cover the M&E framework and tools specific to the logistics sector. This workshop provides participants with a deeper understanding of the M&E processes and equips them with the necessary tools for effective implementation.

  8. Completion of Training for Capacity Building in Korea: This phase involves organizing and completing a training program for capacity building in Korea. The training is conducted through a Technical Cooperation Program (TCP) project funded by the Republic of Korea (RoK). The focus of this training is on improving the Cambodia-Viet Nam border.

These activities collectively aim to enhance the capacity of individuals and institutions involved in logistics monitoring and evaluation. By strengthening these capabilities, the project contributes to improved logistics management and decision-making processes in Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Viet Nam.
