Training and Knowledge Sharing Workshop for Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening for Logistics Monitoring and Evaluation Framework Development in Cambodia and CLV countries (1st Session)
Preah Sihaknouk Province, 28-29 April 2022 General Department of Logistics under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport arranged a Training and Knowledge Sharing Workshop focused on enhancing capacity and institutional strength in developing a Logistics Monitoring and Evaluation Database. This event took place in Cambodia and involved participants from the CLV countries. The workshop was led by H.E. CHHIENG Pich, the Director General of the General Department of Logistics. Around 60 participants engaged in-person and virtually, representing institutes such as the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, Cambodia Logistics Association (CLA), the Cambodia Trucking Association (CAMTA), along with online involvement from an international consultant, a representative from the Mekong Institute (MI), the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos, and the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam.
The main objective of this workshop was to enhance the capabilities of relevant officials and institutions in both the public and private sectors. This focused on areas such as the preparation, compilation, and gathering of statistical data. Additionally, the workshop aimed to reinforce the capacity to establish a framework for monitoring and evaluating the logistics sector in Cambodia.
Furthermore, the workshop facilitated the exchange of knowledge and experiences in managing logistics data between the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Cambodia, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Laos, and the Ministry of Transport in Vietnam.
