About Transport and Development Strategy Institute (TDSI), Vietnam

Overview

The Institute of Transport Strategy and Development is a public research organization under the Ministry of Transport. It conducts scientific research to support the ministry's tasks in strategy formulation, transport planning, policy development, and specialized transportation norms. The institute also provides scientific and technological services and operates within legal frameworks.

The Institute of Transport Strategy and Development performs various scientific, technological, and research tasks assigned by competent agencies. Its main responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting research on transport development strategies, master plans, and technical aspects at regional, national, and local levels.
  2. Developing and reviewing management mechanisms and policies related to transport development, logistics services, intelligent traffic, urban and rural transport, investment capital mobilization, infrastructure management, project evaluation, sustainable development, energy efficiency, and land use.
  3. Summarizing transport industry norms and unit prices, forecasting transportation demand, analyzing databases on infrastructure, transport, traffic safety, and logistics.
  4. Formulating programs to ensure traffic order and safety, reducing congestion, and engaging in international cooperation activities.
  5. Implementing administrative reform programs and applying information technology in the institute's activities.
  6. Promoting and educating the law on transport sector, providing public services using the state budget, and performing other assigned tasks.

Additionally, the institute offers science and technology services, including consultancy on management mechanisms, strategy and planning, norms and unit prices, investment projects, traffic safety inspection, procurement, and project management. It also conducts surveys, forecasts, and statistics on transportation demand, environmental assessments, design consultancy, training and education, conformity assessment, and collaborations with domestic and international organizations.
